Meet Evan, our Supply Chain & Operations Manager
"I love adventure—but I’m not a big fan of being caught by surprise," says Evan Horenovsky with a smile. Whether it’s a climbing trip, a ski weekend, or another outdoor adventure, Evan likes to plan ahead. Not because he wants to control every detail, but because good preparation gives him the freedom to truly enjoy the experience once he’s there.
Maybe that's why he is such a good fit for his role as Supply Chain & Operations Manager. Evan has been with Oberalp North America in Boulder, Colorado, since 2016. Working closely with colleagues across the organization, he is responsible for overseeing purchasing and ensuring that Oberalp products make their way to North America and into customers’ hands. Careful planning is key to ensuring a smooth and efficient process from purchase to delivery.
"I collaborate with people from many different functions and brands. What excites me most is bringing all those perspectives together and finding solutions that genuinely move our business forward," Evan explains. Whether it's inbound and outbound logistics, forecasting, warehouse operations, international transportation, or new projects—the topics he works on vary from day to day.
I still remember how happy I was on my first day, knowing I had found such a great company in Oberalp. More than ten years later, that feeling has only grown stronger.
Evan Horenovsky
Supply Chain & Operations Manager
On Monday mornings, the Boulder office is filled with stories about weekend ski tours, after-work bike rides, great climbing days, and other outdoor adventures. Like many of his colleagues at Oberalp North America, Evan loves spending time in the mountains—especially in good company. That shared passion for the outdoors also shapes the way the team works together. One of Evan’s favorite memories is from the annual backcountry hut trip. "Everyone pitched in, supported one another, and helped make it a special experience. Those are the moments that truly show what teamwork is all about." For Evan, it’s also the little moments that matter. Anyone who knows him knows he’ll never turn down a change to enjoy a good meal and a drink with colleagues.
Outside of work, Evan enjoys spending as much time as possible in nature with his family. As a father of two, he feels most like himself when he’s outdoors—whether he’s on a relaxing hike, spending an afternoon at the park, or watching the sunset with friends.
His two children have given his daily life a whole new sense of purpose. "Having kids jumping on your bed is definitely one way to get your day started," Evan says with a laugh. At the same time, they remind him every day to stay flexible and accept that he can’t plan everything. "Giving them the freedom to discover their passions while also being there to guide them—that’s probably my greatest challenge." For Evan, being able to give the people he loves a happy and fulfilling life—and to share that life with them—means everything.
One experience, in particular, has stayed with him and shown him just how powerful human connection can be. He spent three months traveling solo across India, carrying only a 35-liter backpack. "I’ll never forget the challenges I overcame there—but more than anything, I’ll never forget the people who helped me along the way and made the journey so meaningful."
